It appears as if Jehosaphat looked into the future and heard Paul in , “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

In other words, you should go to God in prayer whether the problem is small or big. Our problem is, we think we have enough sense to handle some things, but Paul says to go to god in EVERYTHING. Let your request be known. I know that God is All Knowing, but you must be direct, you must be precise, you must be concise, you must share with the Lord what is on your heart and how you feel.
In the midst of your trouble, you must recognize your impotence. You must understand that you don’t have the ability, the capability, the capacity, the competence, the sufficiency nor the power to take care of the matter.

15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
